Sometimes, when things are a a little chaotic, you just need to look at some flowers. So, that’s what we’re going to do today.
In the morning, the sun rises behind the sasanqua camellia. Sometimes. Sometimes it hides behind the clouds. The crisp white flowers are a welcome sight in the colder months of the year.

The pineapple sage keeps stealing the show, because it’s the best sight outside the back door right now. The flowers are just so red!

The lavenders haven’t got the memo that it’s almost winter.
There are other little blips of prettiness amidst the soggy, untidy canvas of my garden, and I have to remember to stop and enjoy them. I think I need to plant more flowering things, actually. I can always move them later when I plan the garden beds properly. Let’s just bung them in and enjoy them!
I should cut off these garlic chives seedheads before they spread everywhere, but they’re just so pretty.

The sasanqua camellias are prolific. It is difficult to see the flowers on ours with all the foliage. This year was not good for them, and most did not bloom at all. I did not know they could take the chill there.

Oh, why do you think they didn’t bloom? I imagine the sasanquas ought to be able to handle some amount of chill seeing as they come from Japan and China, but I don’t know that much about them.

I sort of think that they are too shaded. It is hard to say because some are healthy and do not seem to be too sparse. In areas where several are mixed, those that are more exposed or up above lower ones bloomed more than those that are more sheltered or overwhelmed by the larger camellias.
