Not a lot has been happening in the garden over winter, partly because there isn’t as much to do in winter, but mostly because we have been banished from the house by the dreaded EQC repairs. The repairs have been going for 7 1/2 weeks now. I miss my garden terribly. I have done a few quick jobs around the garden, most importantly pruning, but I can’t really hang around too much as I would be in the way of the builders. I now have a few squashed plants, which I am trying not to look at, a number of plants coated in building dust, and a burgeoning population of weeds.
But despite all this there are a few winter jewels sparkling in my garden that are keeping me from going nuts. One of the builders even commented today that he enjoyed looking at my garden as there were lots of interesting things he kept noticing. My garden’s winter appearance is definitely on the improve then.
